  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 3/4 cups (345 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 cup (130 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, plus 1 egg yolk, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. For the brownie cookie dough: cream together room temperature butter and light brown sugar until fluffy. Mix in the egg and vanilla, then combine dry ingredients before folding in the chocolate chips.
  3. For the chocolate chip cookie dough: beat cold cubed butter with sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, then gradually incorporate dry ingredients and mix in additional chocolate chips.
  4. Scoop small balls of each dough, press them together gently, and roll into uniform balls. Place on prepared baking sheets.
  5. Bake for 8 to 9 minutes until edges are set but tops remain slightly underbaked. Cool before serving.
