  • ½ large yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1½ teaspoons brown sugar
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 450g ground beef (80–85% lean)
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Roasted potatoes or French fries
  • Cherry or sliced tomatoes
  • Chopped romaine lettuce

Instructions

  1. For the aioli: Sauté diced onion in olive oil until golden brown. Stir in brown sugar, then mix in mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Chill.
  2. Shape ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper. Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat until desired doneness.
  3. In bowls, layer romaine lettuce, tomatoes, crispy potatoes, and cooked patties. Top with caramelized onion aioli.
