  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder (for brownie batter)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for brownie batter)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (for brownie batter)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for cookie dough)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for cookie dough)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (for cookie dough)
  • 1 large egg (for cookie dough)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cookie dough)
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (for cookie dough)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (for cookie dough)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (for cookie dough)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. For the brownie batter, melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt; mix until smooth.
  3. In another bowl for the cookie dough, cream softened butter with sugars until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Gradually mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until a dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Spread brownie batter evenly in the prepared dish and drop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top; gently press for a marbled effect.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes until edges are set but center is gooey. Allow cooling before slicing.
