  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted) for topping
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for topping
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare an 8 ½ x 4 ½-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until well mixed.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few crumbs.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to parchment paper.
  7. While still warm, brush melted butter over the top and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously.
