  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook chicken until golden brown on both sides, then set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add rice, chicken broth, and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until rice is cooked.
  3. In a separate saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour to create a roux. Gradually whisk in milk and chicken broth until smooth. Add garlic powder, thyme, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan; stir until melted.
  4. Combine the cooked rice with the chicken in the skillet and pour the creamy sauce over it. Stir gently until well mixed.
