Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup dry white apple vinegar
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging)

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create four thinner pieces. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then dredge in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and sliced mushrooms along with Italian seasoning. Cook until mushrooms are tender (about 5-6 minutes).
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute before adding white apple vinegar. Scrape any browned bits from the pan as you let the mixture bubble for about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add heavy cream and return chicken to the skillet. Simmer for about 5 minutes until cooked through, adjusting seasoning as needed before serving.
