  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar (packed light or dark)
  • 3 Large ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 2 Large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus a little extra to go on top of batter)
  • 1/4 cup Mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5 loaf pan with non-stick spray and parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in another bowl until smooth.
  4. Whisk melted butter and brown sugar together until thick, then mix in mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla until combined.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually fold in dry ingredients until just combined; stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before slicing.
