  • 4 boneless skinless salmon fillets (around 7 oz each)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or other white vinegar)
  • 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 12 cloves garlic (finely diced)
  • 1/21 tsp chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry and season with salt and pepper on all sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Cook salmon upside-down for about 3 minutes until golden.
  3. Flip the salmon carefully and fry for another minute.
  4. Move fillets to one side; add butter to baste the top of the salmon for about 1-2 minutes until golden.
  5. Lower heat, add garlic and chili flakes, frying briefly. Stir in honey, rice vinegar, and soy sauce; simmer until thickened.
  6. Return salmon to pan, basting with sauce before serving hot.
