Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Dried lavender buds
  • 1 cup Sliced peaches
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 4 cups Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Milk (for frosting)
  • 1 tablespoon Crushed lavender buds (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and milk until combined.
  3. In another bowl, sift all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in dried lavender buds and sliced peaches.
  5. Divide the batter between two greased 9-inch round cake pans and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before frosting.
  6. For the frosting, beat unsalted butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar until smooth. Mix in milk until you reach the desired consistency. Fold in crushed lavender buds.
  7. Assemble the cake by placing one layer on a serving plate, spreading frosting on top, adding the second layer, and frosting the top and sides as desired.
