  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together room temperature unsalted butter with maple sugar until slightly grainy.
  2. Add powdered sugar; mix until light and fluffy. Incorporate maple syrup and extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, and salt; gradually add to the wet mixture until dough forms.
  4. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out to 1/8-inch thickness.
  5. Cut into shapes using a cookie cutter and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes.
  6. Cool on wire racks before filling with the cream mixture made from butter, powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and maple extract.
