  • 1 large head of green cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Paprika
  • Dried marjoram

Instructions

  1. Core the cabbage and remove leaves; blanch in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until pliable.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  3. Place filling on each cabbage leaf and roll tightly from the stem end.
  4. Arrange rolls seam-side down in a large pot.
  5. Mix crushed tomatoes, beef broth, paprika, and marjoram; pour over rolls.
  6. Cover and simmer on low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours until tender.
