  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup finely diced red bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons diced green onion
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • Avocado oil for cooking
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 strips cooked turkey bacon (cut in half)
  • 2 toasted burger buns
  • Mayo and sriracha for serving
  • Sliced red onion

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, bell pepper, green onion, spices, salt, pepper, and garlic. Mix until combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into balls.
  3. Heat avocado oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken balls and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
  4. Cook for about 4–5 minutes on one side before flipping.
  5. Place cheddar cheese on each patty after flipping and cover to melt for an additional 3–4 minutes.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading mayo and sriracha on toasted buns, adding patties, turkey bacon, and sliced red onion.
