  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup desired filling (red bean paste, custard, Nutella)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together cake flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg and mix in milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Combine with dry ingredients until smooth.
  3. Preheat the Taiyaki pan over medium heat and lightly grease it.
  4. Pour batter into one side of the pan to cover the surface; add your filling in the center.
  5. Top with more batter to cover the filling completely.
  6. Close the pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Carefully remove from the pan and serve warm.
