  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a frying pan over medium heat until amber in color. Let cool slightly.
  2. Combine browned butter with espresso powder in a measuring cup and let infuse for about 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  4. In one bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, espresso powder, and salt.
  5. In another bowl, mix cooled browned butter with sugars until smooth. Add vanilla and eggs; blend well.
  6. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined; fold in chocolate chips.
