  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a Silpat.
  2. In a medium-small saucepan, combine walnuts, brown sugar, granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir gently until well mixed. Add butter to the mixture.
  3. Cook over medium heat while stirring occasionally until the mixture reaches 295°F (hard crack stage). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  4. Quickly spread the coated walnuts onto the prepared baking sheet and separate them using two forks. Allow to cool completely until hardened.
