  • 24 thawed Rhodes white dinner rolls
  • 21 oz can apple pie filling
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
  • Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • ¾ cup milk, water, or apple juice

Instructions

  1. Thaw the dinner rolls on a greased sheet tray covered with plastic wrap for 2-3 hours or overnight.
  2. Cut each roll into six pieces and mix with chopped apple pie filling and cinnamon until combined.
  3. Knead the mixture by hand or with a stand mixer, adding flour as needed until it clumps together.
  4. Shape the dough into balls and flatten slightly; let rise for one hour.
  5. Heat oil in a pot to 350°F. Fry fritters until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
