  • 22 ounces soft caramels
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Toppings: chocolate drizzle, crushed graham crackers, chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly before inserting wooden sticks into each one.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, combine soft caramels, heavy whipping cream, fine sea salt, and vanilla extract. Stir continuously until smooth and reaches about 240°F (115°C).
  3. Dip each apple into the warm caramel sauce until fully coated and let excess drip off.
  4. While caramel is still warm, roll in your choice of toppings and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Allow to cool at room temperature for 15 minutes before refrigerating for at least 30 minutes before serving.
