10 small cold apples
22 ounces soft caramels
¼ cup heavy whipping cream
¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Toppings: chocolate drizzle, crushed graham crackers, chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips
Instructions
Wash and dry the apples thoroughly before inserting wooden sticks into each one.
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, combine soft caramels, heavy whipping cream, fine sea salt, and vanilla extract. Stir continuously until smooth and reaches about 240°F (115°C).
Dip each apple into the warm caramel sauce until fully coated and let excess drip off.
While caramel is still warm, roll in your choice of toppings and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Allow to cool at room temperature for 15 minutes before refrigerating for at least 30 minutes before serving.
