Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Green gel food coloring
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup finely crumbled snack cakes

Instructions

  1. Sift powdered sugar and almond flour together twice. Beat egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar and cream of tartar while beating until stiff peaks form. Mix in green food coloring.
  2. Gently fold in the sifted almond flour mixture until it flows like lava.
  3. Pipe tree shapes onto lined baking sheets and let rest for 30–60 minutes to form a skin.
  4. Bake at 300°F for about 14–16 minutes, then cool completely.
  5. For the filling, beat softened butter until fluffy, then mix in powdered sugar, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and salt. Fold in crumbled snack cakes.
  6. Assemble by piping filling between two similar-sized macaron shells.
  7. Decorate with white chocolate drizzle and festive sprinkles.
