  • 1 medium shallot, finely diced
  • 4 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat the canola oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced shallots and minced garlic; stir until bubbling, then reduce heat to medium-low.
  3. Cook for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Stir occasionally.
  4. In a bowl, combine dried minced onion, red pepper flakes, kosher salt, chili powder, and paprika.
  5. Strain the hot garlic mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into another bowl.
  6. Once cooled, mix the strained oil with the crispy shallots and garlic.
  7. Transfer to a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid and store at room temperature.
